After looking at both the character and the author of The Great Gatsby I've listed things/places they both have in common:
- Large dining room
- Large space for reading and writing
- Entertaining guests
- Hide away for reflection and spending time alone
- Intimate bedroom space
- Not much sign of a kitchen due to social and economic status
- Place divided in two halves to represent both character and author's split personality
- Flowers are a shared interest
- extravagant interior
- White/gold/polished metal colour theme
- Lots of light and open space for watching others and entertaining
I want to create a space full of romance and mystery, showcasing all the beautiful items there are to create a space remnant of the roaring 20's but with a unique twist with the modern day to create more contemporary and practical space for the two. They both loath the idea of being stupidly rich but both fall for it and because swallowed up by it, daisy with marrying Tom and Fitzgerald after becoming a literary master of writing. The two are very similar which helps with designing a space intended for the two.
